Provincial Championships

Late August of each year, Swim Nova Scotia hosts the final meet of the season. The Summer Swimming Provincial Championships is the only event in which a summer swimmer must qualify to attend, based on a combination of Provincial Time Standards and/or Allowable Berth Allotments assigned each year.

Approximately 17 summer swim teams send these swimmers to compete in the Provincial Championships.

At the end of the event, the results are tabulated and, based on the highest points in a number of categories, both individual and team, awards are presented. Also based on a high point system, a select number of swimmers are chosen to represent Nova Scotia the follwing June to compete against other Provincial teams in an All-Star Meet.

The Cole Harbour Hurricanes has been participating in the Provincial Championships since the inception of our team in 2004, winning  several awards each year - individual and as a team - and has sent several swimmers to the All-Star Meet.

Stay tuned for highlights, results and more from our first win in 2004  as Small Team Provincial Champs to a great 2011 summer season as a (barely) large team that STILL placed second overall!
